What is the minimum age to take GED classes?
To take GED Preparation Courses in the State of California, a student must:
1. Not be enrolled in high school,
2. Be at least 18 years of age,
3. Or be within 60 days of his/her 18th birthday,
4. Or within 60 days of his/her high school class graduation date.
Students must show the Adult School one form of valid identification. The ID must be government issued and be current (not expired). The ID must include the student’s name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph.
